What we do?

First of All: -Indigenous Knowledge reflects the unique cultures, languages, values, histories, governance and legal systems of Indigenous Peoples. It is place-based, cumulative and dynamic. Indigenous Knowledge systems involve living well with, and being in relationship with, the natural world.
We would like to begin this by acknowledging that the land on which this meeting is being held is the traditional territories of the Coast Salish peoples, including the Tsleil-Waututh, Squamish, and Musqueam Nations, whose historical relationship with the land continues to this day.

Leadership Transition

2024 - Leadership Transition at the British Columbia Team Handball Federation David Lee (Formed President), retired for the second time and Marcos Alcantara de Araujo became the President of British Columbia Team Handball Federation.
Thank you for your time and dedication

Thank You to David Lee!

As we transition to a new future at British Columbia Team Handball Federation (BCTHF) and looking forward to our 75th anniversary, we take this moment to acknowledge David Lee for his years of service.

David Lee joined British Columbia Team Handball Federation as an athlete in 2008, following a great Handball career abroad and retirement. He ascended to the British Columbia Team Handball Federation board in 2010 and assisted in hosting the 2011 Senior Canadian National Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval.

A crowning thankful moment is his time as British Columbia Team Handball Federation Executive was securing in 2013, $20k in private funds and resources, enabling teams to focus on competition and training every year since. As a former licensed foreign coach, and former licensed foreign referee, David Lee was also tapped to lead development respectively.

Sadly, David Lee ascending to the Canadian Team Handball Federation board in 2016 was a significant administrative loss to British Columbia Team Handball Federation, but seeing David Lee as the National President 2018-2024 is breathtaking.

Although David Lee claims to have officially retire, for the second time, from Handball in 2024 after 35years, we hope he continues to be an invaluable resource to us all.
